Putting together a Costume
When putting together a costume wig there are many ways of disguising yourself. A disguise can be anything that hides or changes a person’s physical appearance, including a costume wig, glasses, makeup, costume false eyelashes or other ways. Hats, glasses, change in hair style or wigs, plastic surgery, and make-up are also used.
In comic book and superhero stories, disguises are used to hide secret identities and keep special powers secret from ordinary people. For example, Superman passes himself off as Clark Kent, and Spider-Man disguises himself in a costume so that he cannot be recognized as Peter Parker.
In science fiction, aliens often take on a human appearance wearing “human suits” as a disguise.
So it is not necessary to have a costume which completely appears as a character but rather one that gives the hint of an alter ego or a hidden being underneath. This can be very affective as it basically leaves it up to the imagination of others as to the character your costume alludes to.
We also see costumes being used in theater film and Television. Costumes help actors portray the character they are playing. A costume wig can help portray a character’s age, gender role, profession, social class the ea they belonged as well as many other things. Many schools run programs for their students to be involved with drama productions. Costumes are a necessity to play a part.
Costumes wigs are also very popular for parties and social events. Some people just love to dress up and play a person’s part just for the fun of it. There are many themed parties where the guests will dress according to a theme. For example, it could be a coloured theme, a fairy theme, vampire themes, the list is endless.
