A topper is a hair piece that is the perfect solution for those experiencing hair loss and hair thinning. A topper is integrated with your own hair and if they are put on properly they will be undetectable.There are a few different types of toppers. The toppers are available in Human hair and Synthetic Hair. Most toppers will have toupee clips that will allow the wearer to snap the hairpiece into place. Some toppers have a honeycomb base that you can pull some of your hair through to integrate with the hair piece.

Easipart is a great product as a topper for thinning hair. Its a fine covering of hair that is on a monofiliament base. The base is very fine and transparent so you can’t see it. It’s the perfect solution for thinning hair. It has toupee clips around the base of the hairpiece to enable you to add the hairpiece to your head. It is available in Human Hair and Synthetic Heat Defiant hair. It is also available in two sizes Easipart and Easipart XL.

Pull thru Wiglets are another great option for those with short hair. They are available in Human hair and Synthetic hair. You can pull thru some of the hair to fill the thinning spots on top of the scalp. The images below shows the honeycomb base that you can see where the hair is pulled through.

Some toppers have more hair than others, the Top Volume has a lot more hair than the Easipart and this is reflected in the price. It is available in a short version and a long version. It is a beautiful piece and for those suffering with Hair loss it is a really truly undetectable.

Argan Smooth Luxury Conditioner_AS-LC

Argan Oil Smooth Shampoo is Paraben, Sulfate and Sodium Chloride Free. The organ oil adds moisture to stop the hair feeling brittle and dry especially on the ends. It is specially formulated for Human hair wigs and is designed to be used after 6 – 8 wears in order to keep your wig looking great. Soak the wig in the water without rubbing to avoid tangling of the hair.

Argan Smooth Luxury Shampoo_AS-LS

Argan Oil Smooth Conditioner is also free of Paragons, Sulfate and Sodium Chloride. The conditioner is rich in vitamins and antioxidants. The French Argan Oil is a great UV protector to reduce damage from excessive sun. The conditioner needs to be avoided on the cap of the hair. Make sure to concentrate on the ends of the hair without excessive tangling of the hair. Keep the hair all going in the same direction. Rinse off in cold water. Conditioning your wig is important to do after every shampoo.

Argan Smooth Treatment Oil_AS-TO

Argan Oil treatment is a treatment mist in a pump spray. It adds shine and creates a smooth and sleek finish. You only need 2 -3 Pumps depending on length throughout all of your hair. You can use the Mist while you are drying with heat. It will help to dry the hair faster.

Heat Defiant Wigs

Not all wigs can be styled with heat. 100% Human hair can withstand heat for styling and drying your wig. Generally all Synthetic wigs are not heat defiant unless the manufacturer states that it is Heat Defiant. Jon Renau has a small range of Heat defiant hair wigs and hair pieces. Heat Defiant means that you can use heat to style and dry your wig. Even though it is heat defiant it is suggested to only apply heat at a low level. It is recommended no more than 150 degrees Celcius. Keep in mind the less you apply heat to the wig, the longer life the wig will have. You must comb your wig often to keep it from tangling and a good detangler will help to keep your wig looking good for longer.We recommend using Jon Renau HD Smooth Detangler to spray on the fibre daily with a wide tooth comb to maintain the integrity of the fibre.

Fiery by Jon Renau

Fiery is manufactured by Jon Renau who have a great expertise for quality products. Fiery features a beautiful soft mono top and a lace front for an unbelievable hair line. It is a long layered hair wig that can be styled with heat up to 150 degrees celcius.

Flame by Jon Renau

Flame is a great shoulder length hair wig with a fringe that can styled to either the left or right or straight down for a blunt fringe. As with the other wigs you must use the spray by Jon Renau HD detangler daily.

Elsa by Jon Renau

A great elegant short style with a lace front that creates a realistic hairline. It is a classic cut with long layers that you can style off your face or to the side. It is strongly recommended to use the HD detangler as with all the other HD wigs.

Haute is a fantastic wig for all ages. It is so versatile and ready to wear straight out of the box. I have seen young teenagers walk out with this wig and it looks fantastic. What does it mean for a wig to be pre permed?

What will my wig look like when I receive it? You must remember that manufacturer’s will style their wigs in order to sell their styles. Sometimes a manufacturer’s image will be very different to the actual wig. Especially prepermed wigs will be styled quite a lot by the manufacturer.

Angie by Jon Renau is just one of those wigs that is pre permed. Pre permed means it has a curl when it comes out of the box and will keep its body after it has been washed. When you first open the box it is really curly so it gives you an option to straighten it completely or leave some loose waves in it. It has unbelievable bounce in the hair. The picture on the right is the manufacturers image after styling. Manufacturer pictures can look very different to the actual product so we like to photograph the product so you get to see exactly what you get when your wig arrives.

I have included images of the wig straight of the box so you can see how curly it is and then images after running a hair straightener through it. It is entirely up to the wearer how curly, wavy or straight it can be. It is a great wig with lots of versatility in regards to styling.

The cap features a mono top with a lace front and is 100% Hand tied. Hand tied means that each hair has been hand tied directly into the cap and there is no wefting. With a hand tied wig the hair is evenly distributed and gives you the upmost realistic look. They are more expensive as it is very labor intensive to manufacture a wig like this. If you run your hands through the wig you can’t see any wefting as there is none. The first image is the inside cap of the wig.

This was the first time I have had time to have a play with a Jon Renau human hair wig and I was very excited about this wig. It has a beautiful feel of the hair which is remy, and the hair has a lovely bounce to it. It looks gorgeous with a few long loose waves left in the style. It is expensive to buy a human hair wig but there is a vast difference between a cheap human hair and an expensive one. No one would be able to tell if you were wearing the Angie Wig by Jon Renau.

Angie would have to be one of my favourite wigs and it certainly lived up to my expectations. I was able to style this wig with a hair straightener with very little time and I am not a hairdresser.

What does it mean for a Wig to be Hand Tied?

If you are a first time wearer you may be struggling with choosing the right wig for you. Terms like Hand Tied, Mono top or Lace front all seem very complicated. They are all very good features of a really good quality wig.

You have probably found lots of information on Mono tops and Lace fronts but what does a Hand tied wig mean for the wig wearer. Just to refresh, a mono top is a fine mesh that is so transparent that the hair looks like it is coming out of your own scalp. The Lacefront is describing the very sheer lace on the hair line at the front of the wig which also gives you the appearance of the hair like a natural hair line. These terms are quite common for good quality brands like Jon Renau, Henry Margu and Ellen Wille.

Below you can see what a hand tied wig looks like on the inside of the cap. Hand tied is a little different and does make a wig more expensive. As the name suggests each hair is individually tied into the cap by hand. It is expensive as it is very labour intensive and a hand tied wig can take 3 -4 times longer for a wigmaker to make. Hand Tied wigs give you a very comfortable fit as they are finished very smoothly on the cap’s surface. They are the most naturally looking wigs that you will find regardless if they are human hair or synthetic hair. There is no risk of the wefting showing as there is no weft just a very fine quality lace. The hair looks like it is coming out of your own scalp. The way the hair is attached allows the hair to be multi directional giving you versatility in styling.

If your budget allows for it I would without hesitation suggest a Hand tied wig but be warned it will be difficult to go back to anything else in the future.

New Colour Trends

Dark Rooted colours are one of the trends that we are finding more common in wigs. Wig Brands like Jon Renau and Ellen Wille keep coming out with more styles that look fabulous.

12FS8 is one of these colours by Jon Renau. In different wigs they may look similar but they take their own style. This is one colour that we love in the short styles as well as the longer styles.

Colour 12FS8 is a Light Golden Brown and Light Natural Golden Blonde with Pale Natural Gold Blonde with Medium Brown Roots. The roots are very pronounced in these wigs and give you a realistic look as we all know that it doesn’t matter how often we colour our hair there is always some hair growth showing. The darker roots gives the wig a more three dimensional shape. The darkness with the blond is just a very elegant look no matter if its a short or long style.

Light Champagne Rooted is another of these dark rooted colours which is found in Ellen Wille Wigs. It is particularly lovely in the Code wig by Ellen Wille. The contrast with the very dark roots with a platinum blonde is absolutely gorgeous. The appearance is quite striking.

One of our newest colours from Ellen Wille is Pearl Blonde Rooted. This is a very unique colour to Ellen Wille and we all just love it especially in the Flip wig. The Flip would be the most elegant wig for the mature women and the Pearl Blonde is certainly a beautiful colour.

Nougat rooted is another rooted colour but not so obvious for those who don’t want such a dramatic hair colour. The darkness around the crown is complimented with lighter tips.

We live on the other side of the world so it may seem strange that we are talking about Spring 2015. With Jon Renau it doesn’t matter. They have just released the Spring Collection which we have started to add to our website. They have put together 7 new styles and there promises to be something for everyone. I thought It was time to give you a run down on the new styles:

SCARLETT

Scarlett will be on our website in the next week or so. It is a lovely beachy waves Style Wig. It features a Smartlace Front Premium Synthetic Hair. The Smartlace gives you an undetectable hairline at the front and the wefted back keeps you feeling cool. This style is very fashionable for this season and we will be seeing more of this to come this season.

ROBIN

Robin is the only petite new style. The quality monofiliament base gives you a very natural looking wig with beautiful elegant layers. The hair from the top just looks like it is coming straight out of your own scalp.

KATHERINE

CHELSEA

easipart3 Easipart is a great option for those clients experiencing partial Hair Loss. It will add volume to your hair in the crown area and fall with your own hair instantly. They have discreet toupee clips that will hold the hair piece securely in place for the busiest of days.

We love the Easipart range as you do not need costly hairdresser appointments to wear your hair piece. Its simple and easy to apply and very quickly done. The Easiparts come in Human hair and Heat Defiant Synthetic hair. Keep in mind if you need to colour the hair piece then you need to buy the Human Hair Easipart.

The base is made of a monofiliament fibre. Monofiliament is a sheer mesh that allows the hair piece to be styled multi directional. In both fibres the base is 5′ x 2.75′ and weighs 1.03 oz. It has the perfect density of hair that is not too much that looks fake and enough to give you a beautiful look.

Next month in March, the Easipart range is going to be extended with longer lengths available. Easihair is introducing 18′ lengths. At the moment the Easipart comes in 12′ lengths in both the Human hair and Synthetic Hair.

Twice a year Jon Renau brings out a new range of wigs and top pieces. Jon Renau has a superior quality about them that we all just love. Even though we are on the other side of the world and going into Summer rather than Winter the new collection is still very welcomed and appropriate for our climate. The quality is unsurpassed to many other brands.

This new collection consists of:

Elite – The O’solite open cap range. The O’solite really are ideal for our Summer weather. It is a wefted wig that makes it extremely cool for our hot summers. They are so light and easy to wear. They can be styled with a comb and some hair spray or gel whichever you like. It is such a versatile wig.

Elizabeth – Heat Defiant Lace Front /Monofiliament Synthetic Wig. I just love the softness of the waves and the way it just frames the face.

Elsa – Heat Defiant Collection Open Cap. This gives you the versatility of a synthetic wig and being able to style it with Heat. Do be careful when styling and only use a low heat to protect the fibers. The Heat defiant fibers can be styled with heat up to 130 degress celcius. The wefted back makes it cool enough to wear even on the hots days. it features a smartlace front which gives you an exquisite natural looking hair line at the front.

Amber
Smart Lace / Monofiliament Wig. This would be my all time favorite wig. It looks so natural with the long layers that have a natural flow about them. And this wig can be ordered in a Large Cap size which is not easy to find as some of you may know.

Top Level – A New Synthetic Hair Topper that is attached via a clip. You can comfortably attach it to the crown. It is 10” – 16” due to the different layer lengths. It gives such a feminine look of the long layers falling so elegantly over your shoulders. At the time of writing this we don’t have it in stock but you can give us a call and we will order in any pieces that you are interested in.

Gwyneth – Human hair Smart Lace /Mono filiament Wig. This is the most expensive wig to arrive out of this collection but it is absolutely exquisite. If you are interested in this wig you may need to give us a call so we can help you with a special order.
